What do Hillary, Bill and Chelsea Clinton, Anders Aslund, Steven Pifer, the Peterson Institute for International Economics, and the Brookings Institution have in common? Answer: they drink unpasteurised milk from the Ukraine. Lots of it.
How damaging this may be for the health depends on how Victor Pinchuk (image left, right), the Ukrainian pipemaker, responds to filings in the Moscow Arbitrazh Court. Reported publicly this week, the court papers suggest [...]

Amid the confusion surrounding the downing of Malaysia Airlines MH17 comes a claim from an Iranian defense expert that could explain why the airliner was targeted by pro-Russian separatists.
Many have questioned how operators inside the Buk missile TELAR (transporter erector launcher and radar) could have possibly mistaken MH17′s radar signal as anything other than a civilian plane, given the Boeing 777′s altitude and transponder type. Thus the notion that the mis [...]

The tensions in Ukraine continue to rise as clashes between pro-Russian activists and Ukrainian riot police left 26 injured and the Ukrainian president reinstated military conscription.
The interim president, Oleksandr Turchynov, said the move to reintroduce compulsory military service was in response to Ukrainian security forces effectively losing control over two eastern regions.
The presidential decree signed Thursday cited “the rising force of armed pro-Russian units and [...]
