Christopher McCandless, the American hiker featured in both the book and film Into The Wild left behind him an interesting legacy. After graduating college with a Bachelor’s in history and anthropology, he gave up his inheritance and hit the road. He made his way through Arizona, California, and then to South Dakota where he worked in a grain elevator before making his way to Alaska, where he would attempt to live off the land. He passed away sometime in August of 1992. His cause of death was starvation.
